My Nuclear Family:

Robbie Hendricken

Robbie was born on August 5, 1971, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. He was the seventh child born from Frank and Marjorie Hendricken. He grew up in Fanning Brook, PEI, on a farm. As he grew up, he worked around animals. He knew how to take care of their daily needs and also take care of them medically. Being around this atmosphere made him want to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

He attended Mount Stewart Consolidated until Grade Eight when he moved up to Morell High. He made it through four tough years of high school until he graduated.

After he graduated from Morell Regional High School, he stayed home to help his father, Frank, out on the farm. He continued on as being a farmer until he was thirty-nine years of age.

It was around this time, he was ready to make a new huge step in his life. He was going to marry Jennifer Laybolt. They got married on July 30th, 1994, at the Little Flower Parish in Morell PEI.

During those years of farming, he farmed cattle, hogs, and potatoes. In the year of 2009, Frank passed away. Robbie took over his herd until they were later sold. When farming wasn’t worth the headache, Robbie took up carpentry for a while.

At the end of October, 2010, Robbie headed Alberta-bound and has been working with Clean Harbors for almost five years. At his site they run vacuum trucks, “clean”, they wash down equipment and machinery in the oil sands. While being out in Alberta, he has taken many courses as he moved up in the job.

Jennifer (Laybolt) Hendricken

Jennifer was born on June 20, 1973, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She was the second and last child to join Ambrose and Yvette Laybolt’s family. She grew up in Morell, PEI, with her brother Robbie Laybolt who is only ten months older then her.

Jennifer grew up on the sea because her parents were both lobster fishers. Because of this lifestyle, you would think she is head over heals for seafood, but it turns out she has absolutely no interest for this particular food.

She attended Morell Consolidated School and then moved up to Morell Regional High School. Once she graduated from Morell, she knew exactly what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.

She went on to Holland Collage where she took the human services course. During her one year course, she moved to Moncton for three months to do her on the job training.

For the past twenty years she's worked for the Queens County Residential Services. She worked at the Woodward location for fifteen years. The only time she got moved from this location was when she was pregnant with her two daughters, until she was transferred to a different home.

She was transferred to the Marjorie Cresent home, but shortly after that home was relocated and she’s currently located at the Inkerman Group Home.

Bailey Hendricken

Bailey was born on September 20, 2001, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. She lives in Fanning Brook, PEI, with her father, Robbie, mother, Jennifer, and older sister, Meranda.

Through Bailey’s years of growing up on a farm, it seemed to have influenced a love for horses. This has lead to her getting into horseback riding. She has been doing this for two years now at the Ranahan Barn in Bangor, PEI. She hasn’t yet participated in any shows, but hopes to this coming summer.

She is currently in her last year of schooling at Mount Stewart Consolidated Elementary School before she moves up to Morell High. She is somewhat nervous for this big change.

As of now, her dream is to become a lawyer. She used to want to be a vet, just like her Dad, but once she realized some of the down falls of this career, she seconded guessed it.
